Good to know
How big is a concrete lock block?
Our standard block is 5 ft long, 2.5 ft high and 2.5 ft deep, and weighs roughly 3,500 lb.
How do you count blocks for a wall?
Divide the wall length by 5 ft and round up — that's one row. Multiply by the number of rows: each row adds 2.5 ft of height. Staggered rows and corners can need an extra block, which we confirm in the quote.
Do I need a permit or an engineer?
In BC, retaining walls 1.2 m (4 ft) or taller usually need a building permit and a design by a professional engineer, and some cities restrict lock-block walls facing public roads. Check with your municipality before you build.
Can you place the blocks for me?
Yes — blocks are delivered and set in place by K2 Crane & Cartage's crane trucks.
